Description:
The Special Rapporteur's 2023 report to the Human Rights Council defined her formidable mandate by pairing a traditional emphasis on confronting threats to the legal profession at large, with a call to re-examine, and expand entrenched understandings of the rule of law and equal access to justice. In a conversation with practitioners, the Special Rapporteur will explore powerful means to enhance equal access to justice, which in turn, strengthen the rule of law: analyzing trends in direct threats and attacks against attorneys, and augmenting the role community justice workers, and grass-roots justice solutions play in combating inequality.
