Mindfulness practice is a method which has been scientifically shown to increase our “emotional intelligence” (EI), which includes our ability to respond to emotional triggers, to conduct difficult conversations, and to maintain confidence and productivity in times of stress. It has also been scientifically shown to decrease stress and depression, issues that the ABA recognizes many lawyers struggle with. We will discuss EI and its application to law practice, practice mindfulness together, and have time for questions.

Speaker: ROBERT CHENDER, counsel, Seward & Kissel and has been a mindfulness teacher for over 30 years. He has recently conducted CLE programs on emotional intelligence at both law firms and in-house law departments.
