Occasioned by the recent interest in New York's Scaffold Law, a series of panels will provide a multi-disciplinary and broad exploration of issues related to construction site safety and construction project risk management. The objective of this event is to provide balanced educational and contextual background for an important issue that has moved, if not into the spotlight, at least into the light of general public attention.

The first panel will set the stage for the event providing an outline of Labor Law and Insurance Law provisions that will be the subject of the panel discussions. This panel will ensure that everyone who attends has a foundational understanding of the way the statutes work. Panel Two will provide a multi-disciplinary academic survey of issues related to construction site safety and risk management. Panel Three will explore risk management issues in the context of the State's Labor Law, including the Scaffold Law, and federal OSHA laws. The last panel will explore risk management issues in the context of the State's Insurance Law, which limits the risk management tools and products available for public owners.

Lunch will feature keynote speaker Richard Anderson, President of the New York Building Congress, who will provide a general look at New York construction industry issues.
