The Mortimer H. Hess Lecture
Trusts Created by Corporations and Partnerships: Something You May Not Have Considered but Need to Know
Thursday, April 17, 2014; 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
There is no charge for this program, please sign in to register.

This is a first-of-its-kind discussion of having a partnership or corporation create a trust and, in particular, a grantor trust. It is important for practitioners to be aware of the potential tax benefits of such trust creation. This presentation will discuss that and related matters and explain how the best result in creating such a trust can be achieved. It will discuss the enhanced results that can be achieved in creating a charitable lead trust by an entity rather than an individual.

"The Mortimer H. Hess Memorial Lectures are made possible through a generous grant from Mr. Hess' family and former partners. The subjects of the lectures are related to the law of trusts, estates, and taxation, subjects on which Mr. Hess was an acknowledged authority."

Speaker: Jonathan G. Blattmachr, Principal in ILS Management, LLC.

Sponsored by: Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation, Paul A. Ferrara, Chair
