Description:
This webinar series will discuss the conduct of virtual proceedings -- trials, appeals, conferences and related proceedings -- in the New York state and federal courts, how they are presently conducted and best practices that should be considered by lawyers, judges, and court administrators in those courts. This first session will focus on the response in high volume courts including the family, civil, housing and criminal courts. The second session on March 9 will consider virtual proceedings in the criminal and civil parts and appellate division of the Supreme Court, the federal trial court and the Second Circuit, as well as in mediation and arbitration. The third session on March 23 will discuss lessons learned, best practices and how the conduct of virtual proceedings can be improved.
